Black grouse do well

The black grouse, one of the rarest birds in Britain, has had a successful breeding season thanks to a dry June this year after two bad summers. The bird was once a common sighting on moorland across Britain but suffered badly due to habitat loss and hunting in the last century. Recent attempts to increase numbers failed because of the wet weather in the last two years. More here
