Goldcrests on the rise

Goldcrests, the smallest birds in Britain, are making a comeback with their population reaching the highest level for 15 years. This is probably thanks to the series of mild winters up to 2008, which allowed more goldcrests to breed the following spring, although last year’s harsher winter may lead to a drop next year.
