Heath Fritillary Recovery

The orange-brown Heath Fritillary (Melitaea athalia), a threatened species in the UK, has made an unexpected comeback at the Blean Woods National Nature Reserve near Canterbury in Kent.  A colony of the orange-brown butterflies has grown from a mere 6 in 2006 to 1,300 this year.   The RSPB web site has the full story.
