Picturesque retreat built in Italian style with breathtaking views over the valley, the mountains and the sea. All rooms are large (34m2) with bathroom, safe and fantastic views. On the outside, the retreat is surrounded by beautiful gardens, a large pool and many inviting corners, ideal for relaxing and rest.
The Retreat
Our quiet and comfortable country hotel is located 300 m above sea level, approximately 5 miles inland from the attractive town of Altea. From all guest rooms you can see the blue horizon of the Mediterranean in the distance and although you can easily imagine the busy life of beachside tourists in high rise hotels down there, here you are able to relax in a peaceful natural setting.
The Rooms
All 5 rooms are of a "junior suite" type, with a floor area of approximately 34m2, full private bathroom, central heating, Mediterranean-style rustic furniture, TV with satellite system, DVD player and safe.
All rooms face south with breathtaking views of both mountains and sea.
The Estate
The hotel property offers several lovely spots where you can enjoy the tranquillity of our environment and the area excellent weather (about 320 days of sunshine a year). Our guests' favourites include the large 60m2 swimming pool, the patio underneath a shady tree or the lawn with its palm trees.
Surrounding area
We are lucky to be in the midst of nature. The hotel is located high up in a very green valley ( Algar River ), and except for seawards, the building is completely surrounded by mountains which rise to 1800 m. The vegetation is predominantly pine woods and cultivated terraces of oranges, lemons, nisperos (loquat), avocados and almonds. Famous local attractions include the Waterfalls of Algar (within
1km
walking distance) and Guadalest Castle (approximately 20 minutes by car).
