Eating and drinking in Girona

There are plenty of decent places to eat and drink in Girona. One of my favourites for a snack is the Café Bistrot, just across from the Palau dels Agullana. Casa Marieta, on the Plaça de Independència just across the river from the old town, has been serving home-style cuisine for over a hundred years. (Francis Barrett)

Where to eat and drink in Girona

Girona restaurant guide
Girona boasts a wide range of restaurants and cuisines: Catalan, signature, Mediterranean, oriental, fresh from the market, vegetarian, Basque and fusion. “Furthermore, the city lies in an area of great culinary dynamism and enjoys a privileged geographical position that offers up a wide variety of ingredients and exceptionally high quality products from the sea and the countryside. “

Time Out guide to Girona
“The best restaurant in town, and indeed one of the best in Spain, is the Celler de Can Roca (Carretera Taialà 40, 972 222 157, closed Mon, Sun). Located in an unprepossessing suburb just north of the city, it is nonetheless an essential trip for food lovers (you’ll need to book ahead).”
