Birdwatching in Turkey

On a major bird migration route and with a wide range of habitats, including abundant wetlands, Turkey is an exciting destination for birdwatching.  On the eastern edge of Europe, it has many Through-the-Looking-Glass species– similar to those in the west, yet with new unexpected twists: the Laughing Dove, Pied Kingfisher, Blue-cheeked Bee-eater, Sombre tit, White-throated Robin (pictured above), to name just a few.
