Birdwatching and wildlife tours in Spain

Spain is one of the best places in Europe for birdwatching with over 500 species recorded, with some 270 breeding including European-threatened species such as Dupont’s lark, purple gallinule white-headed duck, marbled teal lammergeyer, golden eagle and the endemic Spanish imperial eagle. This variety is due in no small measure to its geographical location betwixt Europe and Africa, and straddling the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, and its relief forming an impressive range of habitats and climates. Traditional farming practices such as the dehesa have also helped to greatly birdlife. Good selection here of Birdwatching in Spain books
