Coypu in Spain

coypu: coipú (Mycocastor coypus)

Coypus spread into the Basque Country and Navarra from France where they escaped from fur farms, and are still restricted to small riverine enclaves in this area. They are a considered a pest species because of the damage they do to riverbanks and wetlands.
